Friend boy help!Easy question ?

Ok I'm still in middle school so when school starts he'll be in high school .So I'll txt him and he won't txt back but when I call he'll answer .but anyways we were txtn one time so I said what would you want for your bday or have in mind he said it wouldn't matter I won't you.but when he went to my school he made it so obvious that he liked me .he even asked did I have a phone and when i didn't he still offered me his #.so we made plans that we would go to the movies for his bday the day b4 his bday his number was changed .he also said he sort of liked me .but we have mutual friends so they asked what I was to him he said his little friend nothing major. ...what did he mean by that p.s he's 15 and smokes weed I'm 13
