Why is Brendan Fraser so underrated?

I mean come on, Gods and Monsters, Bedazzled, the Mummy, Blast from the Past? He could do action, comedy, drama, romance yet he gets daddy roles now. I know he's no Brad Pitt but in some cases I think he's better! I just want the old Brendan back :(
